An important day, that of Thursday 9 January 2020, for the Italian Marathons and therefore also for ours!
The Chamber of Deputies has approved the motion that commits the Government to simplify the presence of foreigners in Italian competitions: less bureaucracy for the suitability.
As reported by the FIDAL website, the parliamentary motion aimed at simplifying the presence of foreign athletes in the Italian marathons and in the other “no-stadia”.
The text presented by the honorary president of the Montecitorio Running Club Maurizio Lupi and signed by deputies of all political sides (READ) was approved by the Montecitorio Chamber with 413 votes in favor and no contrary, and obtained the favorable opinion of the Undersecretary for Health Sandra Zampa.
Now the Italian Government will have to undertake to adopt regulatory initiatives that allow foreign athletes to be able to register for events taking place on the Italian territory based on the respective health protection laws specific to their country of residence, rather than presenting a competitive medical certificate issued by a doctor of sport registered in the Italian register.
