From championship to championship Ravenna is always tricolor. Even this year, in fact, the Ravenna Marathon City of Art will be the scene for the award of a national title. The event scheduled for Sunday 8 November 2020, starting from Via di Roma, will in fact be valid for the awarding of the individual CSI National Marathon and Half Marathon title.
The Italian Sports Center has therefore indicated the city of Ravenna as the ideal location for its last major event in 2020 which will close the overall calendar of the various national competitions along the peninsula. For Ravenna Runners Club, an association that organizes the Ravenna Marathon City of Art, another great satisfaction that allows you to continue a truly incredible series that has made the city tricolor on the second Sunday of November since 2015.
For Ravenna, this is the fifth time in six years, testifying to how the constant and punctual promotional commitment of Ravenna Runners Club, both within national borders and abroad, is having the desired effects. In particular, on the route of the Ravenna Marathon, the Italian Federation of Athletics was raced for the Championship Fidal, already in 2015 and 2018, while in 2016 the runners competed for the Master title. In 2019 then, the same Fidal assigned to Ravenna in one fell swoop both the Italian and the Master Championships.
So also in 2020 tricolor titles will be awarded on the finish line in Via di Roma. For CSI it is also the first time in which the crown of champion and champion in the distance of the Half Marathon will also be offered and the day will also be run for the Regional Championship. A further point of pride that also involves the territorial committee of the CSI Ravenna-Lugo, already involved in the Marathon weekend. Since 2018, the local CSI organizes and promotes, together with Ravenna Runners Club, “Running Without Borders – All Together“, the project born within the ‘Coordination for motor and sport activity adapted to the person with intellectual disability’ created in 2016 by the CSI of Ravenna and by the Social Cooperative “La Pieve”, aimed at athletes with disabilities for whom a route of about 3 km is planned on the Sunday of the Marathon which allows them to reach the finish line and feel an important part of the event .
