Luca Facchinetti will also be among the many athletes who will compete on the 21 km of Ravenna Park Race, between narrow paths of the pine forest, embankment promenade, Pialassa Baiona and the lagoon area of the Po Delta Park.
Luca today holds the role of Head of the Italian Youth National Triathlon Team and alternates his days between this prestigious position and his main job, that of Sport Performance Coach. “I am a former professional athlete, today a coach – explains Luca Facchinetti himself – for all athletes who are looking for an individualized preparation that aims at discovering the true essence of sport, a path projected to achieve their own personal fulfillment. My goal is to make sport live in a totally different way and to make as many people as possible passionate about triathlon and the sports connected to it: swimming, cycling and running “.
And immediately we start talking about running, and in any case about restarting after the many months at a reduced rate due to the health emergency: “After the lockdown, the Triathlon sector had already restarted last year, albeit with a different format and this has allowed many athletes not to miss the entire season. On the other hand – Luca explains – the discussion relating to running is different. Many runners have seen the major scheduled events canceled and this has certainly had a negative impact on the whole movement ”.
Now, however, it is right to look ahead and go back to putting yourself to the test. “I’m no longer a professional athlete, but the desire to run is still great and above all I can’t wait to feel the adrenaline of the race. This is also why I decided to participate in the Ravenna Park Race ”.
The opportunity to get back in touch with a race in an original and beautiful environment: “I know the area where the Park Race will take place, but not the route in detail. I must say, however, that I can’t wait to find out because many friends and athletes have talked to me very well about it and told me about a naturalistic setting to be experienced to the full during the test. I know that it will be a ‘muscular’ test and that it will take place in an environment that can change conditions, perhaps finding sand even in the small roads or areas with passages where you will have to pay attention to the streams of water, but all those who have already participated in the first two editions told me about an extraordinary landscape that deserves to be seen ”.
And in two months the Hoka Ravenna Marathon City of Art: “Yes, I’m thinking about it – concludes Luca Facchinetti – and I’m considering whether to participate in one of the tests. Meanwhile, I want to enjoy this Park Race with many other athletes who will be able to use the Sunday race as an excellent training, both at a metabolic and muscular level, in view of the Marathon on November 14th “.
